Casa Cristal
Working with walls that were already in place, the house settles into a plot with breathtaking views over the Mediterranean.
The brief
A sloping plot in the hills above Alella, with part of the retaining walls already built and an open view across the Maresme coast. The challenge was to reuse those walls without compromising the interiors.
The design
Human-scaled spaces that flow towards the light and the landscape. Large glazed openings and white concrete overhangs arrange the house in terraces, so every room faces the sea while staying shaded from the southern sun.
Materials
Clean white volumes, slim aluminium frames and continuous floors linking inside and out. A calm architecture that gives the horizon centre stage.
